The Story behind Urvin Monte

Entertainment isn’t just something Urvin Monte does, it’s who he is. Growing up in a creative family, he stepped into the spotlight at just seven years old. From ballroom dancing to founding his own street dance crew, from singing in his attic with friends to training as an all-round performer… the stage has always been his home.

His talent quickly led to a thriving musical theatre career, including Mamma Mia!, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, Dreamgirls, The Bodyguard, and more earning him a prestigious John Kraaijkamp Musical Award for Best Leading Actor. Whether dancing, singing, or acting, Urvin brings pure energy to every performance.

But his creativity doesn’t stop at the edge of the stage. Urvin shines on screen as well, with roles in GTST, Meisje van Plezier, and the feature film Leeuwin, plus appearances in major national commercials. With a growing toolkit of experience, he also expanded into directing. Because if it’s storytelling, Urvin is all in.

Urvin knows both the spotlight and the shadows behind it. His talks and hosting gigs are packed with energy, inspiration, music, and real-life lessons. Whether on stage as an MC, leading an event, or presenting a show, Urvin connects with audiences effortlessly.

Touring Europe with DJ Real El Canario reignited his passion for house music. After completing the Audio Visuals Academy, he added “audio engineer” and “producer” to his name. Today, he performs as a DJ, creates music, and turns every venue into a dance floor.
